Welcome to Chaly’s Cakes and Delights, a family run food, cakes and catering business Established in 2003 by artist and cake designer Thailys Freites (Chaly), her husband José Valcárcel and their sons; Industrial Designer Victor Valcárcel and Art student Alejandro Valcárcel, leading their talented team of sugar-craft artists, bakers and Chefs, allowing Chaly’s Cakes and Delights to provide a personal service, working collaboratively with their clients becoming in a brand that people can trust. From the beautiful countries of Venezuela and Spain, Thailys and José decided to leave their country in 2003 with their 2 small children to come to work to the equally amazing South Africa.

They have become a recognized cake, food and catering company specializing in creating delicious and beautiful bespoke cakes and other goodies plus delicious Spanish and Latinoamerican food and platters that are not only visually stunning but also taste delicious.

 Chaly’s Cakes and Delights will take your inspirations to create whatever your imagination desires. Your guests will be delighted with the taste, quality and beauty of your cake and the taste of your paellas, empanadas, tequeños, churros and a whole variety of tapas. All their delicious creations are made with the finest ingredients and traditional methods (they do not use premixed products) their menu is a fusion of flavours from Venezuela, Spain, USA, South Africa among others, always incorporating new ideas.

Working from home, they offer a highly professional and personal service from the initial consultation (by appointment or email) to the delivery and set up of your cake.
